Contemplated today, meanwhile morning walk in -9 Celcius degree. In my lifetime i experienced so far a complete turn around about lowering standards instead of raising them.
Growing up, in a sport club already by age 7, doing competition level. Being beaten up if cheated or, didnt fulfill goal times in interval session. Once spent with wohle group extra 1,5 hour after normal training time, repeating not fulfilled sets, until after complete exhaustion still managed to nail all set goal times… Was proven wrong right there, despite opposition.
We shed tears, been angry, opposed ourselves to the coach. But standards were never lowered to our desire. What sports today go through, obviously with very few exception, in the mass, is lowering standards for kids or parents wishes. Mainly in school physical education.

So that is the habit now and basic approach on many other fields, coaches, teachers dont dare to demand anymore, rather lower standards not to loose students or their athletes. In sports clubs it hit a ridicoulus level, parents telling coaches what to do and dont do.
And I see similar behaviour around qi gong too. Telling people basicly lies just to conform to their wishes, in fear of loosing them. Or the opposite : attract people by feeding their desires, with promises built on a “research” of what fits marketing and manipulation in a way. Telling people what they want to hear.
Event descriptions, posts trying to be formulated so to draw attention by promises fulfilling needs… Once have an eye for it, it is pretty uncomfortable to see. It is also a way of lowering standards. Kindergaten level of manipulation. 🙁 I tell you what problems you have, and what solutions i offer.
Just had a very good conversation with a friend on the nei gong path from Canada. Didnt talk for many years, and continued it just where we “hanged”. And covered this topic as well, as been reminded of how we were just 10 years ago, personal stories to find Lotus Nei Gong, before big tech hit. Level of drive and willing to sacrifice. I am just saying, seeking deep, havig faith and sacrifice for a long time for nothing guaranteed, is not exactly the definition of lowered standards. Standards high.
Once i read husband and wife has the highest standards toward each other ( as husband and wif ein fornt of God, can reach so high with no other human being ). It is logical to me, but seems illogical to majority of people. As well as coach wanted to help reach higher had the highest expectations toward me, so high it seemed unfair how much demanded form me compared to others.
By these to learn, limits, tresholds, possible and not possible, responsibility, price of things.
