Qi Gong 氣功
Taoist practitioners emphasize such basic principles as: wu wei ( 無為 ) – non-action ( unintentional action ), spontaneity, simplicity, naturalness ( ziran –自然 ) and the three treasures ( san bao – 三宝 ). Three important books: Yi Jing (or I Ching) – The Book of Changes (~4th century BC), Laozi (老子), or Lao-tzu – Tao Te Ching, and Zhuangzi (莊子), or Chuang-tzu. The Yellow Emperor’s Medical Book (Huangdi Neijing – 黄帝内经), also around 400 BC. ~Traditional practice has always included the study of classical texts, yang sheng fa – healthy living techniques, meditation or contemplation, knowledge of Chinese medicine and herbs, and the practice of qigong and daoyin and martial arts. In the case of Chinese medicine, it is a system that is still on solid footing in modern times, and is apparently part of an even more complete picture. As far as we know, ancient qigong and meditation masters, who managed to unite with the Way, the Tao, created the Chinese medical models that we know today.
Qi gong ultimately points toward a state or level where we truely are able to have the skill to cultivate Qi. It means that practises on their own, from beginning, not Qi gong yet. As it originates from China, we need to understand language and how the people were thinking who created Qi gong. It points toward a state when we become ready bodily, and with mind , awareness to practise Qi gong. The process that we go through during this transformation is called, nei gong.
The ability to truely connect with Qi and effectively regulate it, is not as easy as many would imagine. Certain conditions ( body and mind ) and qualties matched with authentic method is neccessary, plus “practised enough”. Enough means sufficient amount of time to gain, embody the result. Despite our western world, the method is way less intellectual and more experiental.
Foundational work, preparation to Qi gong is a very long process. And now as I go against modern times, their fast approach to results and all marketing strategies, simply state the fact. As I am interested only in the true path and instructing what really works. Effective Qi gong and building its engines manifests through nei gong process.
